He took him in as a homeless teen, and now The Rock shows up with a new truck to thank him.
Dwayne Johnson rose to prominence as The Rock in the WWE. Following that, he went on to have a great acting career, appearing in films and hosting television shows.
Dwayne Johnson, on the other hand, recalls a period when things were more difficult.
When he was a teenager, The Rock was virtually homeless. His mother was evicted from their Hawaii apartment due to a lack of funds. As a result, she moved her kid to live with his father in Nashville, Tennessee.
When The Rock arrived in Nashville, however, a stranger greeted him at the airport in lieu of his father. The small youngster instantly grasped that he would not be living with his father.
Finding himself as a despondent, homeless adolescent may have been disastrous. The Rock, on the other hand, claims that God “always found a way to throw a few people in my path who would shift the direction of the journey I was on.”
A Stranger’s Kindness Changes Everything
Rather of living with his father, The Rock and I moved in with one of those God-sents. Bruno Lauer was the man that aided The Rock despite the fact that they had never met.
“He took this punk kid in and we became lifelong friends,” Dwayne Johnson recalls.
Bruno offered The Rock his final $40 to assist him in purchasing his first automobile. Bruno provided The Rock a place to stay when he first started his WWE career, long before his character became a household name.
So, after all of his success, The Rock decided to give away a vehicle as a unique way of thanking his friend “Downtown Bruno” for all of his help.
Bruno was welcomed into the set of Dwayne Johnson’s comedic TV program Young Rock, which is based on his life.
The Rock tells Bruno about some of the things they’ve done together in the past. While there are lots of chuckles about the “wild times,” The Rock also expresses his heartfelt thanks for everything Bruno has done.
“Your kindness and heart helped change my life’s trajectory,” The Rock says of Bruno’s positive influence.
Then, Dwayne throws a curveball.
The Rock Gives Away A Truck
The Rock gives away a brand new Ford truck to his friend, leaving Bruno Lauer absolutely stunned and in tears.
“Nobody’s ever done anything like this for me before,” Bruno says, overcome with emotion.
The Rock says how he’s already taken care of the license plates and will have Bruno’s new automobile sent to his house in Walls, Mississippi.
“I love you man. Not ’cause of this,” Bruno says, referencing the truck the Rock gave away, “‘Cause of who you are… Thank you, Lord Jesus, for putting you in my life.”
The Rock shared the big surprise on his Instagram account.
